We are excited for recent events that have opened the door for our first visit to the Murle tribe this winter.
Dan was still in South Sudan when the request from General Yau Yau came through, “Can you send someone to help us with agriculture,” he asked Rev. Orozu. So we sent word back that we would come to teach during out next trip to South Sudan. This opportunity to go to the Murle in Pibor seems like a miracle to us. We had developed a 5 year plan to establish such a relationship and God has put it together in just 5 months.
In addition to teaching agriculture and stewardship principles, we will also help the local church in Pibor establish the first chirldren’s Sunday School program. We’ve received a curriculum developed by Calvary Church in Grand Rapids, MI on the book of James. We are excited to adapt that curriculum for the children in Pibor so that they can study the same scriptures the adults will be studying in the coming year.
We still need about $1000 of funding for this project in Pibor as well as a need for monthly supporters of Janzens in South Sudan. If you feel led to partner with us with a one time, or a monthly gift, you can make a secure, online, tax-deductible donation at www.PCCSudan.org. For your contribution to be credited to our missionary account, you will need to designate your gift for the Janzens in the note field.
We are very grateful for your prayers and gifts.
